Billing Management

Manage your pwn.guide subscription, payments, and billing information.

This guide covers managing your pwn.guide billing, from viewing invoices to changing plans.

Accessing Billing

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Navigate to /app/billing
  3. Or click Billing in the sidebar

Your billing dashboard shows:

  • Current plan and billing frequency
  • Subscription status
  • Next billing date and amount
  • Payment method
  • Quick actions (upgrade, cancel, etc.)

Subscription Status

Active - Paid plan with full access, billing is current

Free - Starter plan, no billing required, upgrade anytime

Canceled - Set to cancel at cycle end, access continues until expiration

Lifetime - One-time payment, permanent access, no recurring billing

Managing Your Subscription

Upgrading

From Starter to Plus/Certificate:

  1. Go to /app/billing
  2. Click "Upgrade"
  3. Select plan (Plus or Certificate)
  4. Choose frequency (monthly, yearly, or lifetime)
  5. Enter payment info
  6. Instant access to premium content

From Plus to Certificate:

  1. Click "Upgrade to Certificate"
  2. Pay prorated difference
  3. Immediate access to certification training

From Monthly to Yearly:

  • Switch to yearly billing
  • Save 20% compared to monthly

From Recurring to Lifetime:

  1. Select "Upgrade to Lifetime"
  2. Pay one-time ($149 Plus, $249 Certificate)
  3. Recurring subscription automatically canceled
  4. Lifetime access activated

Downgrading

Certificate to Plus:

  • Change takes effect at next billing cycle
  • Keep Certificate access until then

Plus to Starter:

  • Cancel subscription
  • Access continues until cycle ends
  • Automatically reverts to free plan

Canceling

  1. Go to /app/billing
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Confirm cancellation
  4. Access continues until paid period ends
  5. Automatic billing stops

No Refunds: Canceling doesn't provide refunds. You keep access until your paid period ends. See Refund Policy.

Payment Methods

Updating Payment Info

  1. Visit /app/billing
  2. Click "Update Payment Method"
  3. Enter new card details
  4. Confirm update

Security:

  • Stripe payment processing
  • We never store full card numbers
  • PCI-DSS compliant
  • Encrypted transmission

Failed Payments

What Happens:

  1. Payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds)
  2. Email notification sent
  3. Retry attempts over next few days
  4. Subscription canceled if payment continues to fail

Invoices and Receipts

Viewing Invoices

  1. Navigate to /app/billing
  2. Scroll to "Invoice History"
  3. Click any invoice for details
  4. Download PDF for records

Invoices include:

  • Invoice number and date
  • Amount charged
  • Payment method
  • Billing period
  • Items purchased

Email Receipts

Automatic receipts sent after each payment with invoice details and PDF download link.

Billing Cycles

Monthly: Charged every 30 days ($5.99 Plus, $9.99 Certificate)

Yearly: Charged once per year, 20% savings ($57.48 Plus, $95.89 Certificate)

Lifetime: One-time payment, no recurring charges ($149 Plus, $249 Certificate)

Prorated Billing

When Upgrading

Example: Upgrade from Plus Monthly ($5.99) to Certificate Monthly ($9.99) mid-cycle

  • Credit for unused Plus time
  • Charge for remaining Certificate time
  • Pay only the difference
  • New plan starts immediately

When Downgrading

Downgrades take effect at next billing cycle:

  • No proration needed
  • Keep current plan until cycle ends
  • Lower price at next billing

Billing Notifications

Email notifications for:

  • Successful Payments - Confirmation, receipt, next billing date
  • Failed Payments - Notification, instructions, retry schedule
  • Upcoming Renewals - 3-7 days before, reminder of upcoming charge
  • Subscription Changes - Upgrades, downgrades, cancellations
  • Payment Updates - Card update confirmations

Billing Support

Common Questions

"Why was I charged?" Check your billing cycle at /app/billing - recurring plans auto-renew.

"The amount looks wrong?" Verify your plan tier and check if it was prorated for an upgrade. Review your invoice for a detailed breakdown.

"My card was declined?" Check card expiration and funds, then update your payment method at /app/billing or contact your bank.

"Charged after canceling?" Verify cancellation occurred before the billing date. Check your confirmation email or contact support@pwn.guide.

Security & Privacy

All payments are processed through Stripe with PCI-DSS compliance and full encryption. We only store your Stripe customer ID, last 4 card digits, and subscription status - never full card numbers or CVV codes. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
